Lauren graduated from Cardiff University in 2006 with a First Class Honours Degree in English Literature and went on to work as a paralegal at a local firm. During this time, she studied for the Graduate Diploma in Law at the College of Law in Guildford, passing with distinction. Lauren completed the last stage of her academic training (the Legal Practice Course) at Bournemouth University, also passing with distinction and was awarded the Business School’s prize for ‘Best Student on a Postgraduate Course’.
Lauren undertook her training contract with Letchers Solicitors and qualified as a solicitor in 2013. Since then, she has worked alongside Ianthe Slinger specialising almost exclusively in advising clients on the financial aspects of relationship breakdown. Lauren’s focus on this specific and sometimes complex area of family law has meant that she has gained in depth knowledge and extensive practical experience assisting clients where there are property portfolios, business interests, pensions, trusts or potential third party interests. Lauren can support and advise clients when there are court proceedings and also through alternative means of dispute resolution as well as in the preparation of ‘living together’ and pre or post-nuptial agreements.
Lauren is acutely aware that the breakdown of a relationship can be a worrying and stressful time and aims to put her clients’ concerns, priorities and goals at the centre of all her work. Lauren’s clients welcome her warmth, approachability and pragmatic advice as well as her meticulous attention to detail and ability to ‘see through’ the issues in a case to find sensible and cost effective solutions. Lauren is a member of Resolution, a national organisation promoting a non-confrontational approach to family problems, and has also trained as a collaborative lawyer.
